Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process that allows you to convert your existing skills, knowledge, and work experience into a nationally recognised qualification. Instead of attending classes, sitting exams, or studying full-time, your practical experience is assessed against qualification requirements.

If your experience meets the standards, you can receive a certificate issued by a partnered Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

The timeframe depends on how quickly you can provide your evidence and the qualification you are applying for.

Once you complete your Free Skills Assessment and submit your Evidence Portfolio, the review process typically takes a short period. After assessment approval from our partnered RTOs, your qualification can be issued promptly.

We aim to make the process as smooth and efficient as possible.

You will need to provide documents that demonstrate your skills and work experience. These may include:

  • Resume or CV
  • Reference letters from employers
  • Work photos or videos
  • Employment contracts or payslips
  • Past qualifications or training certificates
  • Licences (if applicable)

During your Free Skills Assessment, we will guide you on exactly what evidence is required for your specific qualification.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process that allows individuals to convert their existing skills and work experience into formal qualifications without needing to attend classes, take exams, or undergo traditional education. This means your practical experience can help you earn certifications faster. Partnered RTOs: AICC 46035, AIBT 41138, ATT 45289
